Q. What is the difference between Zebra GK420t and GK420d models?
GK420t and GK420D are two versions of the GK420 desktop label printer. As the last letter D indicates, the GK420D is a direct thermal transfer, meaning that no ribbons are needed for printing. You will only need direct thermal labels. On the other hand, the GK420t, as the last letter T indictes, is a thermal transfer printer, which means it requires thermal transfer ribbon in order to print and thermal transfer labels are to be used with the ribbon.
Q. What size (length and width) thermal trasnfer ribbons can be used on the GK420t printer?
Standard ribbon length for Zebra GK420t is 244 feet or 74 meter. Allowed width of the ribbon range from 1.33"/33.8mm to 4.33"/110mm. Normally the width of the ribbon needs to be at least half inch wider than the target print area. Choose the the right size that fit your print needs.

Wax, Premium Wax, Wax-Resin and Resin can all be used on Zebra GK420t printer.
